John Woo’s Reign of Assassins Blu-ray is on sale today. Co-directed by Su Chao-Pin, Reign of Assassins starred Michelle Yeoh and Jung Woo-Sung along with star-studded supporting cast of Barbie Hsu, Kelly Lin, Pace Wu, Jiang Yi Yan and Paw Hee Ching. Set in ancient China, the main character is similar to Hollywood’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

The New Monkey King Starts Filming November 15th

Production of the Monkey King gets underway this week which dubbed as the biggest budget of Chinese language movie to date (around US$ 45 million). It will be filmed in full stereoscopic 3D and IMAX that heavily depends on Hollywood’s VFX consultant. The Monkey King is scheduled for release in mainland China cinemas in July 2012. The movie is adapted from Chinese classic Journey to the West and it’s directed by Ah Gan.

The Legend of Chen Zhen Blu-ray Release Date

Legend of the Fist: Return of Chen Zhen Blu-ray will be released on November 18th, 2010. Produced by Gordan Chan and directed by Andrew Lau, Donnie Yen took the role of Chen Zhen who returned to Shanghai under the disguise of a wealthy entrepreneur to prevent assassination plan colluded by the invading Japanese and the local mafia. Anthony Wong led the supporting cast along with Huang Bo, Shu Qi, and Chen Jia Jia. Yasuaki Kurata who appeared in numerous Shaw Brothers’ movies in the 70’s made a cameo appearance. Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame Blu-ray will be available on November 19th, 2010. Directed by Tsui Hark and action choreography by Sammo Hung, ancient China’s version of Sherlock Holmes starred Andy Lau with supporting cast of Carina Lau, Tony Leung Kai Fai, and Li Bing Bing. New Trailer Just Call Me Nobody

Bona Pictures released new trailer for wuxia comedy Just Call Me Nobody which slated for December 3rd premiere. There was a concern whether Just Call Me Nobody can compete at the box office in December against other wuxia drama, Sacrifice and The New Shaolin Temple.
